Dr Carmen Constantin took a break from her day job as Supernumerary Fellow in Mathematics at the University of Oxford to come and teach our pupils all about… card tricks. That’s right. Using fun and games, Dr. Constantin got the children thinking about the properties of numbers. Among other things they looked at counting and sequence, and differences between even and odd numbers. Our pupils are so enthusiastic about maths that Dr. Constantin has since started a regular after-school club in advanced mathematical problem solving to help our pupils apply their eagerness to learn.
