We are pleased to announce a new afterschool Academic Enrichment Programme for pupils aged between 12 and 15 (S1 to S3). Many parents have asked us whether we will expand into secondary school. We hope that one day, with God’s help, we will. In the meantime, this programme brings the richness of a Classical Education to older children who attend other schools, or who homeschool.

In a small group led by expert teachers, pupils study History, Logic and a Classical Language (either Classical Greek or Latin). Lessons are interactive and built around story-telling and conversation. Since it is a Friday afternoon after a long week at school, lessons are enhanced with time for socialising and play. The programme is a chance for children to deepen their interest in history and culture, to grow in academic maturity, and to make friends with other young Classical scholars like themselves.

The programme will start in September 2027. It will run on Fridays between 14:30 and 17:30 at the school’s premises in Newington, Edinburgh. The cost of participating in the programme will be £20/week paid termly. Groups are small and places are limited. Families who are interested are asked to join the waiting list by sending an email to info@standorthodox.org.uk.
